I’m Callum Jubb, The 2018 Cup Tasters Champion for Northern Region, a regular semi-finalist at the Australian Barista Championship, owner of Blue Sky Coffee and a reckonised Australian Barista Championship Judge.
I’ve been making coffee, roasting, cupping coffee and running workshops for several years now. I’ve run my own venues and also worked for players like, iconic Melbourne Roasters like Sensory Lab and St Ali. Whilst also being a stalwart member of the Melbourne coffee scene, I’ve lived in Brisbane, Queensland for about 2 years now and am the Director of Blue Sky Coffee, Brisbane.
This blog is the result of many long and philosophical conversations I’ve had with other diehards over the years. It sums up my approach to coffee/roasting and Drink Gastronomy in general. We need to come in out of the cold, swallow our elitism and learn the lessons of the Cocktail, Wine and food industry quick smart; they are all more similar than we choose to believe.
This blog provides me with a less intrusive format to present my musings to those of a kindred spirit. Enjoy and keep brewing, Cal
